General Hospital star Steve Burton is in the middle of a heated custody situation with his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin. Although they share three children, only their youngest daughter, Brooklyn, is a minor. Now, Sheree is maintaining that she is the “stable” parent and is denying any accusations of alienation. Steve Burton’s World Was Shattered
After over twenty years of marriage and three children, Steve Burton’s world was shattered. He learned that his wife, Sheree Gustin, was pregnant, but the baby was not his. Public statements were released, but it was too late. Fans felt awful for him, and they just wanted him to be happy, as he was a General Hospital fan favorite. He did move on with Michelle Lundstrom, and they have blended their families. However, Steve and Sheree still have a minor child, Brooklyn, who is 12.
He is maintaining that Sheree is alienating Brooklyn from him, which his ex is vehemently denying. She claims that their daughter has an iPad, which “enables her to communicate with father freely via calls, texts and Facetime.” The mother of five also had this to add in her legal documents:
“Despite father’s claims, she had this same access previously and was not restricted from father.”
Sheree Gustin has requested to move from California to Nashville, something that Steve Burton had previously done. However, he opted to move back to the West Coast to be closer to his kids. It is no secret that the exes fail to communicate, but Sheree feels that she has followed all of the rules that have been set.
It seems that Steve has moved a few times since the split, but has not taken Brooklyn with him. Regardless, Sheree has tried to do her best for Brooklyn, yet Steve “does not yet have a stable residence in California,” she has claimed. Moreover, Sheree is adamant that this move “would be a change” for their daughter. Finally, she is the “stable parent and always has been.”
Not A Desirable Situation
Allegedly, Sheree Gustin did not want to pursue a legal course of action. However, she claims that she had no choice. Her attorney had this to say regarding Sheree and Steve Burton:
“She was hoping he would be honest and reasonable, but in the absence of that coparenting, she is turning to the courts.”
The General Hospital star has not spoken up or out yet, but he may try to clear his name if he deems it necessary.
