Ginger Zee has spent years reporting the weather on Good Morning America. However, she recently had a more personal share with fans as she dealt with a health issue. She also called on these fans to share stories of their own with her.
Ginger Zee First Joined Good Morning America‘s Weekend Show In 2011
Zee is an American television personality best known for serving as ABC News’ chief meteorologist. She first gained national prominence after joining Good Morning America Weekend in 2011.
Zee has also appeared on a number of other programs for the network, including Nightline and ABC World News Tonight. In 2016, she also appeared on Season 22 of Dancing with the Stars.
Recently, Zee opened up with fans on social media with a photo from what appeared to be a doctor’s office. Taking to Instagram, she shared that she was undergoing treatment for plantar fasciitis, which causes sharp heel pain.
Many Fans Shared Pieces Of Advice On How They Dealt With Similar Health Issues
As Zee captioned the post, “Getting some treatment for plantar fasciitis because my goodness that little tendon is a stinker. I do have insoles, I am stretching and rolling and doing all the things, but now adding magnets and sound waves because I GOT DESPERATE.”
Zee also took to social media to share the same photo. This time, however, she encouraged fans to share their own similar health stories. As she wrote, “Trying magnets and sound waves for plantar fasciitis cause the pain was BAD— anyone else have plantar? Wild how it just shows up one day, huh?”
On social media, fans were quick to share words of support toward Zee. Some shared how they or people they know dealt with plantar fasciitis or similar issues. Many shared pieces of advice on how they found relief. Some comments include:

- “I’ve had it, pain is awful. Gonna be awkward and say stretching made mine worse . I taped my feet, wore arch supports and it gradually eased”

- “Heel Pads in my training and Golf shoes worked well. Also lots of Calf raises strong Achillis helps.”
- “So painful. Only relief for me were orthotics in my shoes. Been using them for 20+ years. Got them from my podiatrist.”
- “Easiest fix for me was to stand facing my stairs with my toes on a step – bare feet – and drop your heels down to stretch. Repeat several times twice a day. Perfect! This per my doctor.”
- “Mine went away after I visited the foot store.”
