Garrett Green of Meeting Creek, Alberta has qualified for the Showdown Sunday of the 2026 Calgary Stampede. For the second straight day in Pool C action, Green performed admirably.
On Saturday, Green had a score of 87 points. That was 1.5 more points than his strong score of 85.5 points on Friday.
Green’s score of 87 points was tied for the most number of points in the bull riding competition on Saturday. He was tied with Hayden Welsh of Gillette, Wyoming. TJ Gray of Dairy, Oregon was in third place with 85.5 points.
While on the bull Muffin Man on Saturday, Green won $6250.00. Since being penalized for slapping on Thursday, Green has won $11,750. That is the second most money in the Pool C standings. Gray won the most over the last three days, as he won $17,000. Joining Gray and Green in Showdown Sunday from Pool C bull riding competitors is Welsh.
Meanwhile, the stage is set for the Championship Final heat of the 2026 Rangeland Derby chuckwagon racing event. We now know the three finalists in 2026. They will be Jamie Laboucane of St. Walburg, Saskatchewan, Chanse Vigen of Calgary, Alberta and Jason Glass of High River, Alberta. Laboucane had an aggregate time of 10 minutes and 47 seconds, Vigen had an aggregate time of 10 minutes, 49.97 seconds, and Glass had a time of 10 minutes, 52.11 seconds. On Saturday, Laboucane had the fastest time of the day at one minute, 11.01 seconds.
