Guy Fieri has responded to a viral moment in which he was seen interacting with Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate, sparking backlash from his fans and online users. The clip quickly circulated across social media, with users criticizing the Food Network star for associating with the controversial brothers who are facing legal trouble in some countries. Guy Fieri Was Slammed For Greeting The Tate Brothers
On April 11, the Mayor of Flavortown was spotted in Miami, Florida, attending UFC 327. A viral clip spread online where Fieri, with his signature spiked hair and vibrant red long-sleeved top, exchanged greetings and handshakes with the controversial Tate brothers, who were accused of sexual trafficking and exploiting women, among other legal issues.
The brief interaction between the restaurateur and the influencers immediately created an online firestorm, with Fieri’s fans expressing their disappointment and anger.

The Food Network Star Was ‘Devastated’
Following the viral video, Fieri addressed the issue on X, writing that he has seen the comments about him and what happened at the UFC event. “All I can say is that I’m devastated,” he wrote.
Fieri clarified the situation, saying, “I was there to see the fights and when I was walking through the venue, the Tate brothers stood up and said hello and that’s when the exchanged [sic] happened. I did not know them or about them before that moment.”
The chef doubled down on his stance, reiterating that he did not know the brothers. “I’ll never pretend to be a perfect person but let me be crystal clear, I do not know the Tate brothers nor do I support them in any way,” he concluded the post.
Guy Fieri’s Statement Gets Mixed Reactions
Some fans backed Fieri, saying that he shouldn’t apologize for simply acknowledging the Tate brothers and being a decent human being. “Anyone who watched the video could see you were INTRODUCED to them and you were being polite. You have NO need to apologize for being the cordial and polite person you are,” one commented.

Inside The Tate Brothers’ Legal Troubles
In December 2022, Andrew and Tristan were arrested in Romania and subsequently charged with human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized crime group. More charges were later added, including sex with a minor and money laundering. In 2025, the UK Crown Prosecution Service approved 21 charges for the Tates, including rape, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
The brothers, who have denied all the claims, were barred from leaving Romania following the charges. The travel ban was lifted in February 2025, and Andrew and Tristan flew back to Florida, where they are currently based. While they aren’t facing criminal charges in the U.S., the Tates are under active federal investigation.
