The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed Canadian linebacker Ryan Baker to a contract extension through 2027, the team announced on Monday. He was set to become a free agent after 2026.
The 26-year-old has made three starts at middle linebacker to begin this season in place of the injured Wynton McManis, recording 16 defensive tackles.
The six-foot-one, 221-pound defender was originally a fifth-round pick in the 2024 CFL Draft. He has since made 67 defensive tackles and 14 special teams tackles over 34 regular-season games with the Tabbies.

The native of North Vancouver, B.C. played collegiately at the University of British Columbia, where he made 221 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 quarterback sacks, one interception, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries over 32 games.
