The high-octane atmosphere of the Sawai Mansingh Stadium was electric this Friday evening as the Rajasthan Royals (RR) hosted the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 43rd match of IPL 2026. With the tournament reaching its business end, every delivery carried the weight of playoff implications. RR skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and elected to bat first on a surface that looked tailor-made for stroke-making, but the DC pace attack had other plans, delivering a masterclass in powerplay bowling that left the Jaipur crowd stunned.
Kyle Jamieson’s deadly yorker rattles Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s stumps in RR vs DC clash
The early dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal for a low score of six, caught and bowled by Mitchell Starc in the very first over, brought the young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi to the spotlight. While the prodigy started with intent, flicking a boundary to get off the mark, his stay was cut short by a moment of pure bowling brilliance from Kyle Jamieson in the second over.
At 1.5 overs, Jamieson steamed in and unleashed a quintessential toe-crusher. Clocked at 135 kmph, the delivery swung late and dipped sharply, landing right on the popping crease. Suryavanshi, maintaining a slightly open stance, looked to drive the ball through the covers with minimal foot movement. The late movement forced a thin inside edge that rattled the stumps, sending the bails flying.
The 6’8″ Kiwi pacer was visible pumped, charging down the track and maintaining intense eye contact with the departing batter. The DC dugout erupted, with veteran Karun Nair seen celebrating wildly as the Royals were reduced to a precarious 12/2 within the first two overs.

RR move forward consolidating early jitters against DC
Despite the horrific start, the Rajasthan Royals showed why they are one of the most resilient sides in IPL 2026. Following the departure of Suryavanshi for 4 (2b, 1×4), Dhruv Jurel joined captain Parag in the middle. The duo navigated a treacherous powerplay, which ended with RR at 56/2, before shifting gears to dismantle the DC spin twins, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.
By the end of the 10th over, the Royals had successfully rebuilt their innings, reaching a formidable 92/2. The partnership blossomed under pressure, with the pair bringing up their 50-run stand in just 28 deliveries.
While Axar (0/29) and Kuldeep (0/13) tried to dry up the runs, Parag’s aggression during the middle overs ensured the run rate remained above 9.00. With a live forecast predicting a total of 199, the Royals have successfully turned a disastrous start into a position of absolute command as they head into the back half of the innings.
