Jamie Laboucane of St. Walburg, Saskatchewan has won the 2026 Rangeland Derby. Laboucane won the Championship Final Heat in chuckwagon racing at the Calgary Stampede with a winning time of one minute, 10.12 seconds. For Laboucane, who is sponsored by the Panorama Advisory Group, this was his first ever Rangeland Derby title.
In second place on Sunday was Jason Glass of High River, Alberta with a time of 1:12.21. Glass, was sponsored by Birchcliff Energy Limited. This was an emotional time for Glass, as his father Tom died a week before the start of the Calgary Stampede. Tom Glass was a chuckwagon racing icon himself as he won four Rangeland Derby titles and was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in Red Deer.
In third place on Sunday was Chanse Vigen of Calgary with a time of 1:16.46. Vigen had a faster time than Glass, but received five seconds in penalties for knocking over a barrel. Laboucane also had the fastest time of the day, and an aggregate time of 11:57.12.
In the rodeo, seven Americans won the events. They were Bradlee Miller of Huntsville, Texas (bareback), Wyatt Casper of Miami, Texas (saddle bronc), Noah Lee of Mineral Wells. Texas (bull riding), Zach Jongbloed of Iowa, Louisiana (tie down roping), Cheyanne McCartney of Kingston, Oklahoma (women’s breakaway roping), Riley Duvall of Checotah, Oklahoma (steer wrestling) and Hailey Kinsel of Cotulla, Texas (ladies barrel racing).
