Both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune have devoted fans who watch the shows as much as they can. Unfortunately, some viewers might have issues watching the show in the upcoming weeks. That said, this might be less of an issue for one show than the other.
Viewers Watch On Jeopardy! & Wheel of Fortune Different Networks Throughout The Country
Both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune have aired on various networks throughout the years. While both game shows made their debut on NBC, with Wheel of Fortune airing on CBS at times, they currently both run in syndication.
This means that fans watch the shows air on different networks throughout the United States. However, current events might impact the shows’ usual schedule over the upcoming days.
This is because the FIFA World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 15. All matches will be shown on Fox, which means areas where these game shows air in syndication will be impacted.
The news will be a bigger issue for Jeopardy! fans than Wheel of Fortune fans. The latter show wrapped Season 43 earlier this month, while Jeopardy! is running new episodes until July 24. Of course, there are still fans who enjoy watching the show in reruns.

One Jeopardy! fan on Reddit already did the math on when the shows will be impacted. For example, June 11, 15, 17, and 18 will only impact Kansas City, Missouri, and a few other cities, should the soccer tournament preempt the show, and the games go over.
This Will Be The First Time The World Cup Will Be Hosted In Three Countries
In some areas, however, such as Denver, Colorado, and Syracuse, New York, the show will instead be moved to a different station during the impacted days. Some cities will also have earlier or later showings.
Some places, such as Nashville, Tennessee, and New Orleans, Louisiana, will not air at all. Meanwhile, a few cities will have preemptions on only one day. There are at least 12 preemptions expected, and there could still be more, especially during the week of June 22.
As noted by TV Insider, other impacted areas could include “Baltimore, Maryland, Cincinnati, Ohio, Mobile-Pensacola, Florida, Green Bay/Appleton, Wisconsin, Beaumont-Port Arthur, Texas, Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Marquette, Michigan.” At this time, the schedule could be set to change.
The World Cup is being hosted in North America in 16 cities between the United States, Mexico, and Canada. This 23rd edition of the tournament, which will feature 48 teams, is the first to have three host countries.
