President Trump’s interview with CBS’s Norah O’Donnell in April was tense, but he managed to make it through the entire interview. He said at the time that walking out would only draw more attention to it. He was right. The President stormed out of an interview with Meet the Press earlier this week. The incident has gained national headlines and was roasted on multiple late-night talk shows. Jon Stewart mocked the meltdown. Keep reading to find out more about what happened.
President Trump Walks Out Of Meet The Press Interview
President Trump and Meet the Press host Kristen Welker filmed an interview in a barn in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. The interview was plagued by heavy rains that reverberated off the roof, making it difficult to hear each other. But President Trump didn’t like what he could hear.
Kristen Welker pushed back several times on Trump’s claims of election fraud in 2020 and in California’s recent election to choose who will be on the ballot for Mayor in November. Former reality star Spencer Pratt came in third place in the polls, sparking allegations of voter fraud.
But when Kristen Welker asked repeatedly for proof, President Trump couldn’t provide any. That led to a showdown that ended in him taking off his microphone and storming out. He accused the host of being “crooked or stupid,” yet another attack on a female reporter.

“Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough,” President Trump said as he removed his microphone. He later blamed the rain on his early departure.
Jon Stewart Mocks Trump’s Meltdown, ‘Worst Nightmare’
But Jon Stewart didn’t buy that excuse. “Donald Trump didn’t storm out because of the rain. He stormed out because he was challenged, not because he was distracted,” he said on Monday’s The Daily Show. Jon Stewart described Trump as “a man trapped in a barn with his worst nightmare, a woman who won’t stop asking pertinent questions.”
The Daily Show host praised Kristen Welker for not backing down. “This reporter on this day had the temerity to mention to Donald Trump that, well, actually, he did say that all the time. She just lit the fuse on the bulls*** bomb.”
Jon Stewart suggested other reporters should try it. “So maybe it’s time we stop making excuses for that man in order to preserve access to his constant bulls***,” he said.
