Josh Duggar raised a lot of questions when he was transferred from prison to a medical center earlier this month. While many wondered what could be so wrong that he needed to be moved, it turns out, there might not have been anything wrong at all. In fact, his lawyer thinks it was actually retaliation. Keep reading to find out more about Josh’s transfer and what might really be going on behind the scenes.
Josh Duggar Sent To Medical Center
Josh Duggar has been in prison for years now following his arrest for possessing child sexual abuse material. He was the first of the Duggar brothers to end up facing a sex crime charge. That’s why fans were shocked to learn that he had been transferred out to a medical facility earlier this month. Generally, when a transfer like this occurs, it means there is something they cannot handle in the prison itself and need to bring the prisoner elsewhere to get them the help they need. So, it’s pretty serious when someone gets moved.
While the exact reason he was moved was never revealed, there are a few general ways that someone ends up needing to be moved.
As previously reported, “prisoners may be transferred there because of serious health conditions, psychiatric treatment needs, long-term care requirements, or other specialized services that cannot be provided at a standard federal prison.”
However, according to Josh’s lawyer, this wasn’t the case for him. Instead, he thinks it was retaliation.
Josh Moved Due To Retaliation
According to Beau Brindley, Josh’s attorney, there is nothing physically wrong with Josh that would require him to be moved to a medical center. He tells TMZ that he thinks the move was actually retaliation. Apparently, he found flaws in the legal mail system at Seagoville, which is where Josh was serving time. They brought up these flaws during a hearing, which is what leads Baeu to believe that this could be retaliation.
Not only that, but on a phone call with Josh, he told Beau that he was “not sick with any illness” at the time of the transfer. This is a big deal as FMC Fort Worth, where Josh was sent, deals with inmates who possess significant health issues. Beau also notes that these transfers can be ‘unpleasant.’
Of course, there’s no telling what exactly went down. But if Josh wasn’t sick, it definitely seems like there’s something bigger going on with this transfer. Only time will tell if this accusation of retaliation goes any further.
