Gosselin Family Divided Amid Abuse Allegations
Kate and Jon Gosselin’s relationship wasn’t the only one that suffered damage. After appearing alongside his seven siblings on Kate Plus 8, Collin Gosselin became estranged from his mother. He was sent away to a treatment facility when he was 12 amid alleged violent behavior. Jon Gosselin petitioned for custody and Collin went to live with his dad. Collin’s sister, Hannah, also chose to leave Kate and live with her father and brother.
Collin and Kate Gosselin are still estranged. He’s releasing a tell-all book in October. The book details the alleged abuse he suffered at his mother’s hands before she sent him away. He’s also competing on the new season of Special Forces and will likely further address his upbringing.
Kate Gosselin Begs For Prayers, ‘Scary’ Family Crisis
Kate and Jon Gosselin’s kids are all grown up now. Twins Mady and Cara are 25. Sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel turned 22 in May. Some of the kids still live at home with Kate and her boyfriend, Steve Neild. He was her former bodyguard during the height of the TLC show.
Even with most of her kids gone off on their own, Kate Gosselin still has a full house. She has two rescue dogs. She adopted a German Shepherd, Meika, in June 2025. A few months later, her beloved dog Nanuq passed away.
The former reality star added another pup to the mix in July 2026, a Belgian Malinois puppy named Koda. Kate Gosselin admitted it was a struggle to take care of the new dog and often shares updates on social media.
But her latest update on her dogs was heartbreaking. She revealed that Meika was back at the emergency vet for the second time in 12 hours. “X-rays show pneumonia (Likely aspiration pneumonia), which they treated and sent us home. She is still struggling bad this am and will not drink even a sip of water. She needs to be admitted and be hydrated at very least,” she wrote on TikTok.
Kate Gosselin begged fans to pray for her and Meika during the “very scary” family emergency. “Please pray for her,” she wrote. “This is very very scary for all us. I’m worried sick.”
