Katy Perry is revisiting one of the most unexpected celebrity feuds of her career, but this time, it is ending with music instead of insults.

More than a decade after Chief Keef exploded at the pop star online and threatened to “smack” her over comments she made about his music, the two artists have reunited for a shocking collaboration.

Their new remix of “Legendary Lovers” has left fans stunned, especially after old screenshots from their explosive 2013 feud resurfaced online alongside flirty new videos of the pair together.

Katy Perry shocked fans this week after revealing that Chief Keef would appear on a remix of her 2013 track “Legendary Lovers.”

The collaboration comes more than a decade after the pair became embroiled in a heated social media feud that escalated quickly and publicly.

Rumors first began swirling after fan footage surfaced Wednesday night showing Perry meeting up with the rapper in a parking lot. The video quickly circulated online and fueled speculation that the pair were working together.

The “Dark Horse” singer later confirmed the collaboration herself by posting photos from what she called their “legendary link up” on Instagram ahead of the remix release Thursday evening.

The footage showed the two stars deep in conversation while one of Perry’s upbeat songs played over the muted clip.

Fans immediately began dissecting the interaction, with many focusing on Perry leaning in closely while listening to him speak. Chief Keef was even seen giving the singer a one-armed hug during the meetup.

Perry And Chief Keef’s Feud Started With One Tweet

Just heard a new song on the radio called “I hate being sober” I now have serious doubt for the world.

Katy Perry and Chief Keef’s drama dates back to 2013, when the 41-year-old publicly criticized his song “Hate Bein’ Sober,” which featured Wiz Khalifa and 50 Cent.

At the time, Perry tweeted, “Just heard a new song on the radio called I Hate Being Sober and I have serious doubt for the world.”

Chief Keef did not take the comment lightly. The rapper, who was still a teenager at the time, responded with an expletive-filled message directed at Perry on Twitter, now known as X.

“Dat b*tch Katy Perry Can Suck Skin Off my D*ck,” he wrote before adding, “I’ll smack The Sh*t out her.”

According to reports, he also threatened to release a diss track aimed at Perry, though the song never materialized.

The exchange quickly became one of the more bizarre celebrity feuds of the early 2010s.

Katy Perry Eventually Apologized And Chief Keef Followed

Mr. Keef! I’m sorry if I offended you. I heard a lot of people guesting on the song & didn’t even know it was you in particular. Actually…

    — KATY PERRY (@katyperry) May 24, 2013

Despite the intensity of Chief Keef’s reaction, Perry eventually attempted to calm the situation down publicly.

The pop star clarified that she had not intended to target him personally when criticizing the song.

“Mr. Keef! I’m sorry if I offended you,” Perry tweeted at the time, adding, “I heard a lot of people guesting on the song & didn’t even know it was you in particular. Actually…”

Chief Keef surprisingly softened his tone afterward and issued an apology of his own. “Oh Im Sorry Too Then,” he wrote back.

Perry later responded warmly, tweeting, “Believe me, I’m a lover not a hater. x,” effectively bringing the social media feud to an end.

Now, over ten years later, the pair appear to have fully moved on from the conflict, with Perry even sharing screenshots of their old apologies in a new Instagram carousel promoting the remix.

Perry Gives Fans A Closer Look At Their Unexpected Collaboration

Katy Perry continued teasing the collaboration on Thursday by sharing multiple photos and videos of herself hanging out with Chief Keef.

The content included behind-the-scenes moments from their meetup, clips of them smoking together, and footage of them working on music.

One video showed the TV personality accepting what appeared to be a gift from the 30-year-old before putting on a red zip-up hoodie matching the one he wore himself. The sweatshirt reportedly came from Chief Keef’s flagship brand and record label, Glo Gang.

For the “Legendary Lovers” remix promotion, Perry wore a double leather ensemble and appeared braless underneath a semi-sheer white tank top. Meanwhile, Chief Keef kept things casual in a green patterned hoodie, jean shorts, and high-tops.

Just days before the meetup, Perry hinted at the collaboration in a TikTok video where she joked that she was “attempting to summon Mr. Keef.”

The collaboration quickly exploded across social media, where fans celebrated the pair for apparently ending their “decade-long beef.”

Others became fixated on the duo’s body language and interactions during the parking lot meetup and behind-the-scenes clips.

Many commenters joked that Perry seemed “really into him” and “feeling him hard,” while others playfully compared the situation to an “enemies to lovers” storyline.

The reactions only intensified after viewers watched clips of the two laughing, hugging, and spending time together while promoting the remix.

Katy Perry and Chief Keef’s reunion also comes during a nostalgic moment for Perry’s music career, as “Legendary Lovers” originally appeared on her 2013 album “Prism.”
