KSI landed in France with a camera crew and one goal: keep a straight face.
The British entertainer posted a new “Try Not To Laugh In Public” clip on Instagram this week. The French flag emoji in his caption confirmed the filming location. It’s one of his most beloved recurring formats, and France marks the latest chapter in a concept he’s been running for years.
The “Try Not To Laugh” challenge is a YouTube classic. The premise is as simple as it gets. Someone stands in the middle of escalating chaos and tries to stay stone-faced throughout. KSI‘s version takes it outdoors, into real public settings with real strangers. You can’t script what actual pedestrians do. That unpredictability is the whole point.
Picture it: KSI on a French street, crew nearby. Someone does everything possible to crack him up. He’s done this enough times to know the traps. But real-world chaos always finds a new angle.
France adds something specific to the formula. There’s genuine comedy in watching a recognizable British entertainer try to hold it together in front of a French crowd. The cultural distance between the challenge and the setting does some of the work on its own.
The post crossed 101,000 likes on Instagram. That’s a comfortable return for a comedy teaser at his level.
Between MISFITS Boxing and an ongoing music career, KSI has built one of the stranger career paths in entertainment. He co-founded MISFITS Boxing with promoter Mams Taylor. The company has become a prominent name in celebrity and influencer boxing. Fight cards under that banner have drawn mainstream sports coverage. That’s something most YouTubers never come close to.
His comedy roots run just as deep, though. He launched his YouTube channel over a decade ago with FIFA gaming content. From there he moved into vlogs, music, and eventually professional boxing. He’s put out UK chart entries along the way. The “Try Not To Laugh In Public” format has been in the mix since the early days. It’s clearly not going anywhere.
The format travels. It doesn’t need much setup, and it works on any busy street. France was as good a place as any.
The full video hasn’t dropped on his YouTube channel yet. France probably handed him at least one genuinely hard moment. His fans will be watching for those. The video is expected on his channel soon.
KSI shows up, sets the challenge, and lets the chaos run. This time, it ran in France.
