Kelly Clarkson’s talk show is coming to an end. Since then, however, Clarkson has kept her spirits up, even joking about the story during a recent event. This also comes out as she recently teased a big surprise for fans.
Kelly Clarkson Started Hosting Her Own Namesake Talk Show In 2019
Clarkson first rose to fame as the winner of the first season of American Idol. Since then, she has established herself as a musician and a television personality, such as serving as a coach on The Voice.
In 2019, Clarkson started hosting her own talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. Earlier this year, it was announced that the show’s seventh season would be its last, with over 1,200 episodes airing. The series is expected to wrap up this upcoming fall.
However, Clarkson has kept her sense of humor as her show comes to an end. In fact, she recently made a joke about what’s going on during her Friday night concert at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
According to footage from @jpasc24, the songstress shared, “I would get fired by NBC, but I don’t work there anymore.” That said, she admitted that she was “sad” about her show ending, saying that “it was a fun show.”
Clarkson Also Declined A Drink From An Audience Member During The Show
At the time, Clarkson was musing about how what she could do during her talk show didn’t always line up with what she could do during a concert. She continued, “It’s funny, you go to those HR meetings and you’re like, ‘Nobody on the road would last. It’s just a different world. I was 19 on a bus with dudes. ‘What? I can’t do what?’ ‘Yeah, that’s completely inappropriate.’”
During the event, Clarkson also declined a drink from an audience member. At the time, she joked that she couldn’t have anything stronger than the energy drink, “Red Bull.”
As previously reported, Clarkson has also since spent time focusing on her music as of late. She recently announced a new single, the first since “Where Have You Been” came out in May 2025.
Clarkson has since shared the song “I’d Be Lyin” on social media, including Instagram. As she wrote in a caption, “‘I’d Be Lyin’ is out everywhere you listen to music! If you’re coming to the show in Vegas tonight, there may be a new song added to the setlist.”
