Daniel Lawrence Whitney, better known by his stage name, “Larry the Cable Guy,” is a stand-up comedian. He is known to many as a member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and appearing on Blue Collar TV.
Over the years, Whitney has appeared in a number of films and television shows, including Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, Delta Farce, and Witless Protection. As a voice actor, he is also known for playing Mater in Disney and Pixar’s Cars franchise.
According to TMZ, Larry is on the mend after a sudden illness landed him in the hospital. A rep told the outlet that he was hospitalized in Lincoln, Nebraska, this past Thursday night.
The Taping Of Larry’s Upcoming Series, American Mayhem, Has Been Impacted By His Health Issue
At the time, doctors diagnosed the stand-up comedian with appendicitis. Reportedly, he was released after being laid up in bed for a couple of days. He’s reportedly home already and is in good condition.
For the time being, Larry’s stint in the hospital didn’t impact any of his live comedy shows. However, he had to postpone taping episodes for his new CBS series, American Mayhem, a weekly comedy clip show. The series is expected to enter syndication this upcoming fall. For the time being, the taping is expected to be rescheduled at a later date.
