Wake up! America, Lori Loughlin is back like she never left!
The actress who played Rebecca Donaldson on the popular ABC sitcom, “Full House,” had stepped away from Instagram for about seven years since her infamous school admissions scandal.
Lori Loughlin and her then-husband, Mossimo Giannulli, served time after pleading guilty to paying half a million dollars in bribes to secure admission spots for their daughters into the University of Southern California.
Loughlin made her first Instagram post in seven years after previously deleting her account and staying away from the spotlight. The actress announced her highly anticipated return to social media with the help of her “Full House” co-stars. Each entertainer had their moment in the video, delivering an iconic line from the show.
The video featured John Stamos, Scott Weinger, Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, and Dave Coulier all holding a cup of coffee as they said Loughlin’s famous line, “Wake up, San Francisco,” from the sitcom.
The actress appeared after the clips of her co-stars lip-syncing a different line from “Full House.” “Hi, I’m Rebecca Donaldson, and I’m welcoming myself back to the show,” she lip-synced. “Welcome back, Becky. Why, thank you, Becky,” she said, followed by the iconic background audience laughter.
Loughlin’s post ended with a clip from the 80’s sitcom featuring Bob Saget, who played one of the show’s lead roles. “Wake up, San Francisco, I’m Danny Tanner,” Saget said, iconically introducing his character. Present-day Loughlin reappeared on screen to introduce herself alongside a round of applause, “And I’m Rebecca Donaldson.”
Fans Were Thrilled To Have The Actress Back Online
Loughlin’s new account already has over 40,000 followers, and her grand return post has received reactions from more than three times that number.
Many fans took to the comments to express that they were happy about the TV star’s return to Instagram. “Welcome back! We’ve missed you!” a fan wrote while another added, “YAAASSS! Aunt Becky is back!”
Several fans wondered if this was a subtle announcement that another season of “Full House” was coming. “I thought this was a video to say there was a new season coming out,” a netizen’s comment read.
Others wrote compliments about the actress’s looks, noting that she looked good even after all these years, while the clip of Saget in the reel tugged at the heartstrings of some users. Saget passed away in 2022 at the age of 65 in his Florida hotel room.
Lori Loughlin Remained Friends With Her ‘Full House’ Love Interest

John Stamos, who played Jesse Katsopolis on the ABC sitcom, was Loughlin’s character’s love interest, whom she later married and had twin boys with on the show. The co-stars, despite giving fans a view of a realistic budding romance and playing a couple on-screen, kept their real lives separate.
Stamos, during a last year appearance on a podcast, was asked if he would ever leave his wife, Caitlin McHugh, for his “Full House” partner, to which he gave a resounding no. He maintained his commitment to McHugh and clarified that there is “No f-ucking way!” that he would leave his wife.
The Blast shared that Loughlin and Stamos have maintained a platonic friendship over the years. The actor described his co-star as a “good person,” adding that he and McHugh have been pillars of support for her during her legal troubles and divorce from Giannulli.
Mossimo Giannulli Reportedly Had Doubts About Her Friendship With Stamos

In that same interview, Stamos gave a piece of his mind about his friend’s husband. He explained that he cut ties with Giannulli, whom he also labeled a “terrible narcissist.”
According to reports from insiders, Giannulli wasn’t a fan of Stamos either. He felt the actor’s relationship with his then-wife went beyond friendship and was “too flirty for comfort.” The Blast shared that the fashion designer did not hide his frustration with Stamos in public, though they never got physical.
“Mossimo never believed it was just acting. He thought John’s charm didn’t stop when the cameras did,” an insider previously revealed, adding that “he saw John as competition- not Uncle Jesse.”
Lori Loughlin’s Estranged Husband Does Not Have Many Fans On The ‘Full House’ Set

Stamos is not the only one who has aired his feelings about Giannulli and his “negativity” fueled relationship with Loughlin. A few months ago, Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on the show, also complimented her-costar’s youthful glow amid throwing subtle shade at her ex.
Sweetin noted that the mom of two looked gorgeous in her recent red carpet outings, adding “there’s nothing like dropping some dead weight to get you back out there looking cute.”
The ex-couple were married for almost three decades before they pulled the plug on their marriage. According to insiders, the admissions scandal drove a wedge into their union, and their marriage never recovered from the fall.
The Blast shared that Loughlin has reportedly started dabbling in the dating pool once again. She is focused on enjoying this new chapter of life and spending time with her daughters, Bella and Olivia.
Welcome back to Instagram, Lori Loughlin!
