Roommates, Hollywood has lost another household name! Samuel Monroe Jr., who starred in ‘Menace II Society’ and ‘The Players Club, ‘ passed away this week, according to his mother. He was 52.

Samuel Monroe Jr.’s Mom Confirms His Death
Joyce Patton, Samuel’s mom, posted an update about her son on Facebook, per a screenshot from The Shade Room. She only confirmed his death, but did not reveal the cause. Instead, she asked the public to keep her family and three children in prayers.
“I want to thank all of my Facebook family and friends new and old for praying for Samuel Monroe Jr., my son. But today God called him home. Please honor my final request to pray for the family, especially his 3 children.”
Joyce also spoke to TMZ and said Samuel died after a battle with meningitis. He died on Wednesday (August 26), around 10:24 p.m. PT at a hospital. The report also says he was hospitalized with a severe case of meningitis, MRSA pneumonia, and other medical issues. That said, TMZ also reported that Samuel Monroe Jr. was discharged alive, according to a hospital rep.
