Everyone loves a puzzle.
And TravelBrands was only too happy to give its partners and guests attending its celebration of 145 years of travel something to puzzle over.
Over 200 suppliers, travel advisors and friends were on hand at Toronto’s stylish Boulevard Club to learn the answer to that puzzle, to witness the unveiling of TravelBrands new brand image and, generally, to enjoy the company of friends and colleagues.
As for the puzzle, if you consider the iconic brands that shelter under the TravelBrands’ umbrella, the answer presents itself in a flash.
And Bruce Lidberg, TravelBrands’ Senior Director of Sales, didn’t leave the gathering waiting too long for a solution, telling them that the celebration of 145 years of travel was a “look back in history” at some of the iconic companies that are part of TravelBrands’ portfolio.
He pointed to Holiday House and Fun Sun, companies that were established in 1956 (70 years); to Intair, which began operations in 1986 (40 years); and to Encore Cruises which set sail in 1991 (35 years) to provide those attending the event with the solution to the puzzle [I’ll let you do the math].
Each of those companies carved out their own, unique path. Each of those individual brands built their own legacy and their own following as they encouraged Canadians to explore the world.
For Lidberg, the evening marked an “incredible milestone” for TravelBrands, but he also acknowledged that those milestones couldn’t have been achieved without the support of its supplier and agency partners.
“We wouldn’t have been here without all of you,” Lidberg told the crowd.

Over the years, TravelBrands and its many brands have continued to evolve, innovate and bring the world closer to Canadians.
And its new brand image, makes it clear what the company is all about with a simple and direct message: TravelBrands. Your Window to the World.
Sam Youssef, Senior Vice President Marketing & Partnerships, told Travel Press Today (TPT) that: “The evolution of the TravelBrands’ brand is encouraging Canadians to dream bigger and to discover more of the world.”
He pointed to the two million hotels, 85 airlines, over 20 cruise lines and more than 10 car rental companies that are all brought together in “one travel ecosystem,” and delivering to travel advisors all the product, services and technology they need to help their clients discover the world.
Said Youssef: “Our new identity reflects who we are today and where we’re going tomorrow.”
Nathalie Tanious, President & CEO of H.I.S. Canada Travel Inc., parent company of TravelBrands, certainly agrees, telling TPT: “TravelBrands has it all … and everything in between.”
Stay tuned, you can bet there’ll be more to come from TravelBrands … who knows what to expect in the next 145 years …
