On the road with Nova Twins

This is Tour Diary, where artists give us a behind-the-scenes look at life on the road. Last summer, Nova Twins — the London duo of Amy Love and Georgia South — put out their third studio album, Parasites & Butterflies, which took their signature fusion of R&B, rock, and electro-punk to a higher level. Beyond its thick, explosive sound, they explained that it’s “about the bridge between chaos and beauty, embracing and accepting both sides… We wanted to showcase something deeply human: how vulnerability can be as empowering as it is revealing in its honesty. By playing with opposites, light and shade, you can feel a contrast throughout the album. You’ll find songs that make you want to dance, cry, self-reflect, or even escape. Life is a constant balancing act, but the thrill of the unknown is what makes us feel truly alive.”

Well before its release, Nova Twins were on a hot streak, from playing Glastonbury to covering Doechii’s “Anxiety” to hitting Warped Tour’s Long Beach stop. That only ramped up as they were tapped to open for Evanescence’s Sanctuary tour alongside Spiritbox, kicking off in June. Night after night, they’ve been hitting the stage with nonstop energy, showmanship, and swagger, performing to packed arenas. Then toward the back half of Evanescence’s set, the pair are invited back onstage with Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante to help Amy Lee sing “Fight Like a Girl,” the single released for last year’s Ballerina soundtrack.
