Disney World Had A Previous Personal Connection To Reba McEntire’s Son
Shelby Blackston is an American race car driver. He is also the son of country music star Reba McEntire and her ex-husband, Narvel Blackstock. He is also the half-brother of the late Brandon Blackstock, who was formerly married to singer Kelly Clarkson.
In his personal life, Blackstock married his girlfriend of eight years, Marissa Branch, at Walt Disney World in Florida. Recently, the two returned to Disney to announce some big news to fans.
The couple shared that they were expecting a little boy, who was set to be born this October in a recent Instagram post. As they shared in the caption, “Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October. See ya, real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you!”
As Fans Noted, Shelby & Marissa’s Happy News Was Years In The Making
The carousel post opened up with the couple kissing in front of Cinderella’s Castle, all the while holding a Mickey Mouse onesie. The second showed the onesie up close, a cake, a Mickey Mouse hat reading, “Baby Blackstock October 2026,” and a few ultrasound photos.
In another photo, the couple received a note that read, “Congratulations on your new addition! Wishing you all the best in your next chapter as parents.” A sippy cup reading, “Made With Love and pixie dust,” could also be seen. The final photos showed the happy couple posing around the park.
This will be the couple’s first child. However, it’s been a four-year journey. As noted by Parade, the couple has dealt with fertility issues in the past, with Marissa sharing that she was starting her second round of IVF three months ago.
A few of Shelby’s famous friends shared their congratulations on the post. Melissa Peterman, who co-stars with McEntire on Happy’s Place, as well as having acted alongside her on her namesake sitcom, wrote, “Yes!!!!! I am so happy for you both!!!!!” Fellow Reba alum JoAnna Garcia Swisher wrote, “The most incredible news!”
