Al Qadsiah secured an impressive 3-1 win over Al Nassr, overturning a first-half setback to claim a deserved win, denting the visitors’ Saudi Pro League title hopes.
Al Qadsiah strike first but Felix responds
The hosts made the brighter start and were rewarded midway through the first half when Mohammed Abu Al Shamat opened the scoring.
Arriving at the back post, he converted from close range after a dangerous delivery caused problems inside the six-yard box.
Al Nassr responded with greater urgency, and their attacking quality began to show.
Cristiano Ronaldo came closest when he struck the crossbar from a tight angle, a warning sign that the visitors were growing into the contest.
The equaliser arrived before the break through Joao Felix, who finished a swift counter-attack well.
Meeting a cross from Marcelo Brozovic, Félix guided a precise effort into the top corner to level the match at 1-1 heading into half-time.
Al Qadsiah regained the initiative early in the second half, showing greater intent. Their pressure paid off when Musab Al-Juwayr restored the lead, finishing confidently from inside the box after being teed up by Julian Quinones.
Al Nassr struggled to build much momentum in response. Despite flashes from Felix and Ronaldo, their attacking play lacked much quality, with several efforts blocked or drifting off target.
Quinones seals it late on
As the game opened up in the closing stages, Al Qadsiah capitalised to put the result beyond doubt. Quinones, already influential as a provider, turned scorer with a composed finish from the centre of the box to make it 3-1.
From that point, the outcome was effectively settled. Al Nassr continued to push, but their efforts were largely speculative, with Ronaldo’s late long-range attempt drifting wide as frustration grew.
