Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Crystal Kung Minkoff revealed she is on the verge of a stroke. Moreover, she had her doctor give her some scary details about her heart. So, what is next for the RHOBH alum, and could she be near death? Keep reading for more information as to what is going on with the mother of two.
Crystal Has Been Here Before
RHOBH viewers may recall that Crystal Kung Minkoff fell gravely ill when the cast was on a trip to Spain. It was in Season 13, and she suddenly felt dizzy, nauseous, was swelling right up, and believed she could be having a stroke. Luckily, Annemarie Wiley was there, and in the medical field, so she was a great help. Her blood pressure was extremely high, so it was something to be addressed when they returned home. After that, not much was discussed about it, but it did help to mend Crystal and Annemarie’s relationship.
Now, Crystal is back in the same boat as she had taken her blood pressure before heading to record her Humble Brag With Crystal and Cynthia podcast. She co-hosts this with RHOA star Cynthia Bailey and noted she was late as her BP was extremely high. The normal rate is at or below 120/80, but Crystal’s was at 160/110 mmHg. That was alarming and in stroke territory, so she immediately got in touch with her doctor, as she explained:
“I was late to come here because I was at my doctor’s. My blood pressure was really high this week. I was like, ‘OK, so we’re in the realm of stroke now.’ They call it the silent killer.”
Crystal went on to note that she had been feeling pressure, but her heart rate was very low. That was when they went and did an EKG. The results for the RHOBH alum were disheartening:
“So we did my EKG and he said my heart was slightly enlarged.”
Taking The Next Steps
So, what is next for the former RHOBH star? Is she going to be okay, or is there more that must be done to save her life? The doctor has increased Crystal Kung Minkoff’s medication, doubling it, and noted that 80 percent of this is hereditary. However, the twenty percent that is not is just a few little alterations Crystal needs to make. She needs to work out differently and keep her muscles working. Hopefully, by doing this, it can help her feel better and live a fuller life because she is only 43.
