Bravo had high hopes for Season 20 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. They brought back OG Vicki Gunvalson and believed she would help turn the iconic season around. However, it has since failed to leave its mark, with viewers deeming it boring and unwatchable. So, how can RHOC be fixed, and whose fault is it? Keep reading for more details on what has gone wrong.
Bravo Missed The Mark With RHOC Season 20
This is a huge season for RHOC since it’s the 20th year. The network brought back Vicki Gunvalson, the OG, and there was so much hope for it to be iconic. Viewers have struggled over the last few seasons, feeling that the storylines were redundant. They had grown tired of Shannon Beador and Tamra Judge constantly fighting back and forth, and the ladies always screeching and screaming. Moreover, Tamra keeps threatening to leave, as does Shannon. With the exit of Katie Ginella and the addition of Camella Garcia, could Season 20 be better?
Nope. RHOC fans are not thrilled with what has gone down this season and feel it is a giant snoozefest. Some are blaming Tamra Judge, as she was always the potstirrer and has since tried to tame her ways. Co-star Gina Kirschenheiter even noted how much she had toned herself, and Tamra mentioned she got in one really bad fight all season. One source stated that Tamra’s calm demeanor is directly affecting the entertainment value of the season:
“This is having a negative impact on the show, because, whether you love her or not, she is the show. Without her being activated and bringing it, it’s proving there is a lack of any serious drama for fans to sink their teeth into. Without that type of drama or conflict, the show just isn’t as interesting and is lacking to reach its full potential.”

However, several fans are actually grateful that Tamra is no longer freaking out regularly. They could not stand her bad behavior and are turning the blame to Vicki. She has returned, but is always screeching at her co-stars and is chronically mean. So, was it a bad idea to bring her back, at least full-time? That could have been an error in judgment.
Time For A Reboot
RHOC viewers are done with the same bad storylines, Vicki Gunvalson screaming, and are ready for a new cast. They think that is the only way for the show to survive or to make it worthy of watching:
- RHOC is long overdue for a major cast shake-up. RHONY Season 5 style – where they cut over half of the cast. And it doesn’t mean dragging back HWs who had already been fired – which RHOC is notorious for.
- Season is lacking because Vicki is acting like a buffoon. On a scooter then walking around in heels .
- The episode this week was SO boring. It’s like watching grannies make fools of themselves. This show needs a recast or pause. Such a snooze. We have seen this room fight 20000 times already throughout the years. Enough already.
One fan even tried to watch Season 20 and was deterred:
- I’ve tried several times and barely made in halfway through the second episode, somebody let me know if anything meaningful happens
Hopefully, it does not end on a bad note, but time will tell. What are your thoughts on Season 20 of RHOC, and are you over it? Finally, what do you think the nail in the coffin is? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
