Dolores Catania has been popping up in a number of reality shows over the past few years, but her big break was on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. However, as the show enters its fifteenth season, a source recently claimed that things weren’t going too easily for her behind the scenes. They also weighed in on her fate with another show.
After Appearing In Early Seasons, Dolores Catania Officially Joined The Real Housewives of New Jersey In 2016
Catania is a philanthropist and entrepreneur originally from Paterson, New Jersey. In her personal life, she married Frank Catania in 1994, sharing two children together, ultimately divorcing in 1998. Last year, she became engaged to Paul “Paulie” Connell, having started dating in 2021.
After making appearances during its early seasons, Catania officially joined the main cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey in 2016. Since then, fans have seen her on other reality shows, winning the third season of The Traitors as a “Faithful.” Last year, she joined The Real Housewives of Rhode Island in a friend capacity.
At the time, the move surprised fans, since it appeared that Dolores would be part of two different Housewives franchises. However, speaking with Reality Blurb, a source shared that she has “not been invited” back for the Rhode Island show’s second season.
Reportedly, Dolores also hasn’t been invited back for a reunion. As the source shared, “The main cast members are crushing it, and, while Dolores was put in the mix to bring a familiar face that fans would recognize, it just ended up not being necessary.”
The Source Also Wondered If This Was The End Of The ‘Golden Age’ Of Dolores Branching Out Into Other Shows
For the time being, Dolores is expected to make her return to RHONJ‘s upcoming 15th season. However, the source shared that things aren’t going too well for her either, saying she was having a tough time.
The insider shared, “Dolores has always been a peacemaker and the middleman, never choosing sides in the conflict between Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga. Now that Teresa and Melissa have made up, Dolores’ role isn’t as clearly defined. It’s almost like she’s being pushed aside a bit and isn’t sure of her place.”

The source noted that Dolores was riding high following her time on so many reality shows as of late. However, they were worried that her “golden age” could be coming to an end, at least when it comes to branching out into other shows. The outlet maintained that one of the reasons she won’t likely return to RHORI was because she was too attached to her original Bravo show. They shared, “First, she is back to filming RHONJ. That was and is her primary show. And that obviously will be occupying her time.”
The source also mused that Dolores was only a “friend.” As they explained, they felt that things would be different if there had been a major altercation.
