Samsung recently mentioned that the company’s upcoming smartglasses won’t be a standalone product, but will work like a handset companion and will hand off information to your handset, similar to the Meta Ray-Bans.
Because of the recent One UI 8.5 update, SammyGuru was able to learn more about the upcoming smartglasses.
According to the leak, the glasses will show up in your list of Bluetooth devices alongside Galaxy Buds and other Galaxy products. Then you’ll see an icon that represents the Galaxy glasses.
The Samsung glasses will reportedly feature the model numbers SM-O200P and SM-O200J. Samsung will reportedly release one this year and the other in 2027. Other leaks indicate that at least one of the glasses will have a 12-megapixel Sony IMX681 CMOS sensor, and it’s possible that both will have a 155mAh battery.
I’m a huge fan of smartglasses and have owned three different pairs of Metas over the generations, and played around with the Galaxy XR headset and Android XR prototype. I’m looking forward to Samsung’s upcoming smartglasses, especially considering how much of a role the company has been playing with its most recent releases.
