Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood of Brampton, Ontario recorded his 12th career National Hockey League shutout on Thursday. He accomplished the feat in a 2-0 Avalanche win over the Seattle Kraken at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
Wedgewood made 22 saves for the shutout. He made seven saves in the first period, five saves in the second period and 10 saves in the third period.
Three Canadians recorded a point for the Avalanche. Parker Kelly of Camrose, Alberta scored a goal, while defensemen Brent Burns of Barrie, Ontario and Cale Makar of Calgary, Alberta each had an assist.
Of Wedgewood’s 12 NHL shutouts, six have been with the Colorado Avalanche, three have been with the New Jersey Devils, two have been with the Dallas Stars and one shutout with the Arizona Coyotes.
During the 2025-26 NHL regular season, Wedgewood was one of the very best goaltenders. He led the NHL with a .921 save percentage and a sparkling goals against average of 2.02. Those two accomplishments should put him as a strong contender for the Vezina Trophy. Wedgewood also had a record of 31 wins, six regulation losses and six losses in extra time with four shutouts. The Avalanche, meanwhile won the Presidents’ Trophy with 121 total points.
