Shia LaBeouf declares that his present legal challenges do not include any accusations of him drinking alcohol. The actor who was arrested during Mardi Gras in New Orleans claims he has a different issue to address.
In a new interview with Andrew Callaghan’s Channel 5, the “Transformers” star opened up about the incident. A judge had just ordered him to return to rehab last Thursday. LaBeouf pushed back against that idea. “I don’t think I have a drinking problem,” he stated. He believed that his actions resulted from a different cause. “I think I have a different problem, and I’m gonna address it. I think I have a small man complex.”
He explained that actual root cause of his problem stems from “anger and ego” instead of substance abuse. LaBeouf said that his problems stem from “I think it’s something that has to do with anger and ego more so than my drinking”. “That’s where I’m at now on my journey, and I’m trying to navigate it.”
The public reaction occurred quickly while most people showed doubts about the situation. The two issues need to be addressed at the same time according to many people. One commenter wrote “Both things can be true.” Another person responded “Definitely not mutually exclusive my man.” Several users noted that this is classic denial. “This is what people with drinking problems say,” observed one person.
People connected his self-diagnosis with his previous violent behavior. Users mentioned the serious abuse allegations against him which his former partners FKA twigs and Mia Goth brought against him. “He is a chronic abuser,” one comment read, referencing the lawsuit from FKA twigs that was settled and an incident involving Mia Goth. Another user stated plainly, “Men who abuse women are absolutely small men, regardless of their physical size.”
