The View Fans Worry About Joy Behar’s Health
Joy Behar is getting up there in age. She was 54 when she started on The View. She’s now 83 as the show heads into its 30th anniversary. The longtime host missed four episodes in November 2025 after breaking her toe in a freak mishap. She dropped an iPad on her foot, causing a fracture in her toe. Her co-hosts chided her for not being more careful.
The comedian went on hiatus in early June, sparking rumors that she was retiring or ill. However, she was in Europe performing in a production of a play she wrote, My First Ex-Husband. Before her short leave of absence, viewers saw that Joy Behar sometimes needed to be escorted to her seat. She revealed the truth behind what’s really going on.
Joy Behar, 83, Addresses Claims She Was Drunk On Live TV
The View went dark for the first week of July so the hosts could celebrate the July 4th holiday. But when the show returned on Monday, July 6, half of the hosts were missing. Ana Navarro and Sara Haines were stuck at home amid bad weather. Whoopi Goldberg was stranded in Italy due to a volcano erupting. Joy Behar had to come in on her day off to moderate. Michelle Buteau filled in as a guest host.

Joy Behar kicked things off by talking about what they all did over the holiday weekend. She revealed that she slept and had a minor medical procedure done. “I got acupuncture because I’m dizzy,” she said. “I walk and I’m dizzy. Has anybody noticed that I walk like I’m drunk? I’m not drinking, I don’t drink.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin shared that sometimes she escorts Joy Behar to her seat because of the dizziness and other health issues.
She Has No Patience For Returning Guest Host
Whoopi Goldberg was back in her seat on The View for Tuesday’s episode. The hosts welcomed back former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. She previously appeared on the show in November 2025 and again in January 2026 amid scrutiny from the FCC over a lack of conservative guests.
Joy Behar got along fine with MTG on her previous appearances. However, she ran out of patience on Tuesday. The interaction went viral when Joy Behar shut down Marjorie Taylor Greene at the end of the segment. As Joy Behar said they were out of time, MTG cut in, “Ya’ll should have had me for the whole show!”
JOY BEHAR: “We don’t…we’re out of time…as much as…”
MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: “Ya’ll should have had me for the whole show!”
JOY BEHAR: “No.”
“Umm…sorry…it’s enough.”
