Tom Selleck has been part of a number of shows throughout the years. While fans have been wondering what could be next for the star, he seems to be taking a break as of late. An insider even shared what his current life is like, noting that someone close to him is especially happy over the situation.
Tom Selleck Has Had Many Names Over The Years, Including Thomas Magnum, Frank Reagan, & Jesse Stone
Selleck is known for headlining two shows. From 1980 to 1989, he starred as Magnum, P.I. For over a decade, he starred in Blue Bloods as Frank Reagan from 2010 to 2024. In addition, he also headlines the Jesse Stone television films.
Since Blue Bloods has come to an end, fans have been wondering what could be next for the star. However, sources say that someone close to Selleck already appreciates the break of sorts.
Speaking with Closer Weekly, an insider recently shared, “Tom’s finally taking his foot off the gas, and it’s a huge comfort to everyone who cares about him. For years, he was go-go-go around the ranch, tearing around on his ATV, and taking on projects like he was still in his 40s, but these days, he’s embracing a much more low-key routine.”
Since 1987, Selleck has been married to former stage actress Jillie Mack. According to the source, she has a special reason to appreciate Selleck getting a break from work: his health.
According to the insider, “Jillie is grateful he’s listening to his body and slowing down. She’s been urging him for years to slow down and be more mindful.”
That Said, Sources Previously Suggested That Selleck Could Be Interested In His Next Project
Previously, a source told the outlet that Mack was happy to have more time with her husband. At the time, they shared, “He slowed way down since the show ended, which has been a big adjustment for him and a little tough.”
“But thankfully he has Jillie to help keep his spirits up. She’s thrilled to have him home more, and he’s certainly grateful to have more time to go on long walks with her and cuddle up on the couch.”

However, only time will tell if Selleck won’t make his eventual return to acting. As previously reported, inside sources previously told the outlet that Selleck was actually interested in headlining another show. At the time, the source suggested that the actor was using his connections at CBS, which aired Magnum, P.I. and Blue Bloods, for prospective work.
In addition, there had been speculation that Selleck could appear on the Blue Bloods spin-off, Boston Blue. While his former co-star Donnie Wahlberg expressed interested in the idea, he hasn’t appeared on the show as of yet.
After “Blue Bloods” got canceled, Tom Selleck began doing things a bit differently, and his wife, Jillie Mack, reportedly doesn’t mind that he’s working less. https://t.co/jU08IQo1tR
