Turnover have announced their new album, ‘Down On Earth, out May 29. Releasing their sixth LP independently, the band chose to look back at their past for new inspiration — bringing longtime front-of-house engineer Zac Montez to produce the album and translate the energy of their live performances into a studio recording.
The band selected its cover — shot by renowned photographer Nick Waplington — which reflects the broader themes they explore on Down On Earth.

“I wanted to use a photo because photos stay with me in a more familiar way,” bassist Danny Dempsey says. “I also buy a lot of photo books and love to see a well-known photographer working with musicians. I’ve been a big fan of Nick’s stuff, and something that felt out of reach turned out to be easy and fun. The photo feels like it could be any time in history to me. Today. Tomorrow. Fifty years ago. Fifty years into the future. And I’m not sure if I want to be there or not. It just pulls me in. It’s a weird one.”
Alongside the announcement are “Nightjar” and “I See You and Realize,” two new singles from Down On Earth. To honor their home state, the video for “Nightjar,” directed by Ben Turok, is a tribute to where they grew up through a portrait of Virginia Beach.
This summer, Turnover will head out on a North American tour, joined by Narrow Head and one of AP’s rising artists of 2026, she’s green, with performances at Gov Ball and Bonnaroo. Later in the year, they’ll join Coheed and Cambria at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and at their inaugural Neverender Festival.
