Tyler Mislawchuk of Winnipeg, Manitoba won the bronze medal on Saturday at the 2026 World Triathlon Cup in Chengdu, China. It was Mislawchuk’s eighth career World Cup medal. Overall, he has won three gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals.
Mislawchuk had a total time of 50 minutes and 16 seconds. Luke Willian of Australia won the gold medal with a time of 50 minutes and 14 seconds. Nils Serre Gehri of France won the silver medal with a time of 50 minutes and 14 seconds. Mislawchuk reached the podium by three seconds. Nathan Grayel of France finished in fourth place with a time of 50 minutes and 19 seconds.
Mislawchuk’s swim time was eight minutes and 59 seconds. He then had a transition time of 41 seconds from the water to the bike. His cycling time was 26 minutes and five seconds, his transition to the run was 27 seconds, and his run was 14 minutes and four seconds.
The first World Cup triathlon medal for Mislawchuk was a bronze medal in Antwerp, Belgium in 2018. That was followed by a gold medal in Mooloolaba, Australia in 2019, gold in Huatulco, Mexico in 2019, gold in Huatulco in 2021, silver in Huatulco in 2022 and 2023, and silver in Saidia, Morocco in 2025. The bronze medal for Mislawchuk will give him confidence as he prepares for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
