The venue holds fond memories for the youngster, who played an instrumental role in leading India to the Under-19 World Cup title just four months prior. During that tournament, Suryavanshi produced a breathtaking, match-winning 175 off just 80 balls against England in the final, alongside a fiery 68 against Afghanistan in the semi-finals at the same ground.
Returning to a familiar deck gives the youngster a strategic advantage as he seeks to re-establish his rhythm at the top of the order. He explained that understanding local pitch dynamics and weather conditions will help him adapt faster during the upcoming fixtures.
“To return to the ground where we made history and won the Under-19 World Cup will be an altogether different feeling, I’ve got a fair idea about the pitches and conditions from my previous matches here. I will try to apply those learnings now, back my practice, and contribute as much as I can for the team,” he concluded.
