Daniel Lissing might have left When Calls the Heart, but his time with Hallmark hasn’t come to an end. Recently, the network has been teasing his most recent project. Notably, it’s a bit different than his usual fare with the network.
Daniel Lissing Previously Played Jack Thornton On When Calls The Heart
Lissing is an Australian actor who gained international fame after getting cast as Canadian Mountie Jack Thornton on When Calls the Heart. Appearing from 2014 to 2018, he chose to leave at the end of the fifth season, with Jack being killed off. However, he appeared as the character for a brief cameo in When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas in 2021.
Over the years, Lissing has also appeared in a number of Hallmark projects. These include Christmas In Love, Santa Tell Me, Single on the 25th, and Christmas Under Construction.
Fans will soon see Lissing in his next Hallmark project, Aussie at Heart. While famously playing a Canadian character on When Calls the Heart, he will get to speak with his natural accent during the new film.
The project also marks a big difference from the usual movies Lissing has worked on with Hallmark. It’s not a Christmas movie.
Aussie At Heart Was Filmed On Location In Queensland, Australia
According to Parade, the story revolves around Samara, played by Rhiannon Fish, a lawyer-turned-event planner. She reunites with Nate, played by Lissing, a former co-worker and rival, to help plan a Queensland anniversary. The two confront their past and fall for each other. The film is also believed to be filmed on location in Queensland and its surrounding areas.
Aussie at Heart premiered on August 15 at 8 PM ET on Hallmark Channel. It can be streamed the next day on Hallmark+.
