Recently, Rogan weighed in on the ongoing controversy concerning the president and his feud with Jimmy Kimmel. At the moment, he also discussed another controversy concerning another figure.
Joe Rogan Discussed The Feud Between President Donald Trump & Jimmy Kimmel
Rogan is a podcaster known for his namesake series, The Joe Rogan Experience. He is also known for his work as a UFC interviewer and color commentator. Over the years, he’s worn many hats, from comedian to host of Fear Factor.
Over the years, Rogan has often shared mixed feelings about President Donald Trump. While he supported him in 2024, he has also since criticized his policies.
Recently, Rogan took issue with the president’s feud with Jimmy Kimmel. As previously reported, Trump had called on the talk show host to be fired after quipping that First Lady Melania Trump looked like an “expectant widow,” a joke made prior to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting. For his part, Kimmel has defended the joke, saying that it was poking fun at the age difference between the president and his spouse.
During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the host discussed the controversy with comedian Mark Normand. For his part, Normand shared, “The Kimmel s–t is annoying. Like, the fighting with Kimmel over the jokes. Stop trying to shut down comedy.”
Kimmel Wasn’t The Only Figure Rogan Appeared To Defend
Rogan shared a similar sentiment, noting that, while proving ill-timed, the comments were made before the shooting and felt that critics were taking things out of context. Noting another comedian’s defense of Kimmel, he shared, “Adam Carolla had a really good point. [Kimmel] said that joke on a Thursday.”
Rogan continued, “On Friday, nobody gave a s–t. No one cared on Saturday until Saturday night, when the assassination attempt [happened] and then all of a sudden everyone’s blaming Kimmel.”
Rogan then discussed former FBI Director James Comey, who was charged by Trump’s Justice Department after posting an image of seashells in a pattern reportedly reading “86-47.” This allegedly read as “Get rid of Trump.”
As the podcast host mused, “Here’s what’s crazy, no arrests. No one’s being brought in. Meanwhile, Comey is getting arrested for a photo of seashells that say ’86-47′.”
This also caused Rogan to question the DOJ’s priorities. He felt that if there were really any underlying issues concerning Comey, focus would be given to something like a seashell arrangement. He then suggested that the department was “just looking for any reason” to bring charges.
