Before joining The View, Alyssa Farah Griffin had served in several roles for the White House. She was able to put her background to use during a conversation about a current White House staffer. In particular, she felt that they could soon lose their position in the current administration.
Alyssa Farah Griffin Permanently Joined The View In 2022
Griffin served as the White House director of strategic communications and Assistant to the President in 2020 during Donald Trump’s first presidency. Previously, she served as a press secretary of the United States Department of Defense and press secretary to the vice president.
Following her departure from the Trump administration, Griffin started to make appearances on The View. She became a permanent co-host during the show’s 26th season.
Griffin recently put her White House background to use during a recent episode of the show. At the time, the co-hosts were weighing in after Trump‘s commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick, testified in a closed-door Congressional hearing about his connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
Griffin Mused That, Even If There Might Not Be A ‘Formal Firing,’ Some Change Was Bound To Happen
Joy Behar predicted, “Eventually, I think it’ll all come out.” She also pointed out that Lutnick had admitted to taking his family, including children, to Epstein’s island.
Sunny Hostin noted that Lutnick previously denied wanting to be in Epstein’s company during a podcast, only to visit his island. While noting that he wasn’t under oath, she noted, “It’s still illegal to lie to Congress.” She continued, The fact that he is speaking with a witness potentially before testimony before Congress should be concerning to every single American.”

This was when Griffin started to weigh in, feeling that Lutnick could soon be axed. Interestingly, she partially attributed this to the timing. As she explained, “I do suspect that Howard Lutnick’s days in the Trump cabinet may be numbered because the news cycle has largely moved on from Epstein.”
Griffin felt that Lutnick had just put Epstein back in the headlines. She continued, “We’re talking about the war in Iran. We’re talking about high gas prices. It’s kind of been on the back burner for a bit. People have not forgotten about it, but it’s not in the headlines. Then he shows up to testify, and it’s front and center again. That is something that the president does not want to see. And I could see a world in which he says, politely, ‘Move on.’”
As she continued, Griffin felt that Lutnick might not be formally dismissed, but something is bound to happen to his current standing. She mused, “Maybe he’s not formally fired, but they would want him to move on to something else, to just kind of get the stink away from the White House.”
