Cher hasn’t always gotten along with her children. She only recently reconciled with one son. However, she sought to put the other under a conservatorship to take control of his money. In new court filings, her son made a shocking claim that he’s broke after his mother cut off his $10k allowance.
Elijah Blue Allman In Psychiatric Hospital After Multiple Arrests
Cher has two children from previous relationships. Sonny Bono is Chaz’s father. Elijah Blue Allman is the product of her relationship with Gregg Allman. Cher didn’t initially support Chaz Bono’s transition from female to male, causing a strained relationship for years. However, they’ve since reconciled and she attended his wedding.
Like his father, Elijah Blue Allman has struggled with drug addiction for years. His mother tried to place her son under conservatorship in 2023. They came to a private agreement. But she went back to court in April to again try to place her son under a watchful eye. Cher’s lawyers claimed in court that her youngest child couldn’t control his finances and blew through his trust fund each month. Elijah Blue Allman received $10k a month from a trust set up by his late father.
Cher’s recent attempt to take control of her son’s finances came after he was arrested twice in one weekend. He was arrested in late February on charges of trespassing and assault after an incident at a school in Concord, New Hampshire. Elijah Blue Allman was arrested again days later after allegedly breaking into a home in Concord. He returns to court on June 16, 2026, for a trial on the trespassing charges.
In the meantime, he’s at a psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire until he returns to court. The judge overseeing the conservatorship case denied Cher’s pleas, noting that her son couldn’t access his money from the mental hospital.
Cher’s Son Broke, Claims She Stopped Sending $10K Allowance
Elijah Blue Allman received $10k from the trust his father set up. He also received another $10k from his mother every month until recently. His lawyers submitted new proof of income in an attempt to reduce his spousal support payments to his estranged wife.
Cher’s son married Marieangela King in 2013. They separated in 2021 but haven’t legally divorced. Elijah Blue Allman pays his estranged wife $6,500 a month. However, his lawyers claim that he can’t afford that amount since his mother cut him off. According to the Daily Mail, Cher stopped giving her son a monthly $10k allowance in 2021.
His lawyers claim that his income is only only $6,790 a month after taxes are taken out of his monthly $10k from his late father’s estate. The documents didn’t reveal why Cher cut her son off. However, her lawyers had this to say when seeking conservatorship in April: “Regarding his financial affairs alone, Elijah spends any money he gets immediately and almost exclusively on drugs, expensive hotels and limousine transportation.”
