Simone Biles Showed Off A Few Hospital Wristbands In A Recent Instagram Story
Biles is an artistic gymnast. With at least 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals under her belt, she is considered one of the most decorated gymnasts in history.
In her personal life, Biles is known for her relationship with football player Jonathan Owens. Having started dating in 2020, the two announced their engagement in 2022 and married the following year.
Recently, Biles had a harrowing story to share with fans, involving a terrifying health scare. Taking to her Instagram Stories, she shared a story she wouldn’t normally share. As she noted, “I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age.”
However, the gymnast felt it was important to share, as “almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week. This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. Especially since Jonathan [Owens] was in Indy for practices.”
Biles Also Made Sure To Thank Her Support Team During This Time
In the image, Biles could be seen wearing a number of hospital wristbands, with a few details scratched off. While she didn’t go into specifics over what the health scare was, she noted that she would explain things at a later date.
As Biles continued, “I’ve been in bed resting this week, I’ll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers. Loooovveeee y’all.”
In other posts, Biles showed off photos of flower bouquets as she continued her recovery process. In another, she showed herself lying in bed with a caption reading, “I’ll be here.” This also included an image of Biles’ elevated heart rate, which was at 126 bpm.
A few days prior, Biles shared an image of her enjoying breakfast in bed, complete with egg, toast, and sausage. At the time, she shared, “Just what the doctor ordered.”
While it’s unclear at this time what the health scare was, Biles previously talked about the toll her athletic career can have on her in an interview with L’Equipe last year. At the time, she shared, while recalling the 2024 Olympics, “I went back to the [Olympic] village, I took the elevator and my body literally collapsed. I was sick for 10 days. The other day, we were sprinting in the garden with friends. I had aches and pains for three days.”
