Sherri Shepherd has had a long career as an actress and a television personality. Thanks to this, she has worked with a number of people over the years. Recently, she opened up about a future star finding himself losing one of the first jobs in their career and the reassurance he gave him.
Sherri Shepherd Has Been Part Of A Number Of Shows Over The Years, With Both A Sitcom & A Talk Show In Her Name
Shepherd is known to many for her hosting duties on various shows. This has included The View, Dish Nation, and her own syndicated daytime talk show, Sherri.
Shepherd has also had a prominent career as an actress. She has appeared in shows like 30 Rock, Less than Perfect, and her own namesake sitcom, Sherri.
However, actors are often part of all sorts of projects that people aren’t aware of. In a recent throwback on Instagram, Shepherd revealed that she was part of a Fox sitcom called Rewind. The project starred Scott Baio and Mystro Clark.
In a video for Remind Magazine, the actress shared, “Bet you didn’t know I was in a pilot called Rewind.” She explained that it revolved around two friends who ran their own advertising business. However, the story would often “rewind back” to their younger days, hence the name.
Shepherd shared part of the original description, “For Scott Baio and Mystro Clark, it’s not forgotten as they relive the ’70s in Rewind.” She teased that she would play “The girl with the attitude, which was my whole career.”
The Actress Revealed That Milo Ventimiglia Was Part Of The Show’s Table Read
The actress then shared that Milo Ventimiglia was involved early on. He was set to play the high school version of Baio’s character. While he made it to a table read, he was ultimately let go. As she shared, “I remember he was devastated.”
Shepherd revealed that she had reassured him at the time, telling him, “You are gonna be big.” Of course, the actress would prove right, as Ventimiglia would appear in various shows over the years, especially gaining recognition as Jack Pearson on This Is Us.

Shepherd felt that the story was a good teaching lesson. She shared, “That just shows you. You could be fired for something, but it’s not gonna stop what you got to do.”
Sharing more about the project, Shepherd revealed that actress Christine Taylor was also attached. However, one anecdote she shared involved her own father when he visited the set. Recognizing Baio, she recalled him calling out on set, “Chachi! Chachi! When you gonna give my daughter some more lines?” Later, he introduced himself to the actor, asking for his daughter to have more lines.
As the outlet noted, the series never became a hit sitcom. She shared that the show filmed around six episodes, but never continued. While a promo for the show aired on Fox, it’s unclear if the series ever actually aired. However, Fox would later air another show with the decade in mind with That ’70s Show.
