Big Brother recently premiered its latest season. However, two houseguests have already come under fire after they appeared in footage from the show’s live feed. In fact, one series alum has even taken to social media to criticize the moment.
Big Brother Premiered Season 28 Earlier This Month
Big Brother is currently in its 28th season. The new season made its debut earlier this month on July 9, 2026, on CBS and Paramount+.
This season focuses on a “BB Time Trip” theme. It also marks a milestone for the series, as it features Big Brother‘s 1,000th original episode.
However, two contestants have already gotten in trouble with many of the show’s fans. This came about after recent footage from the show’s 24/7 live feed showcased houseguests Rick Devens and Kamu Kirk bonding over a controversial topic.
The pair were reacting to a silly moment in which Drew Campbell put on Mallory Morris’ two-piece unicorn pajamas and performed a show for their housemates. This caused Rick to ask Kamu, “Are those dudes dressed in women’s clothes?”
Kamu confirmed, “That’s Drew dressed in Mallory’s other unicorn pajamas,” as Rick began to laugh and shake his head. The MMA fighter added, “There was another pair; I was like, ‘I’m not doing that bro.’”
Rick then started laughing, adding, “Not until Jason’s HOH.” This was a reference to houseguest Jason De Puey, who is a professional drag queen.
Series Alum Frankie Grande Has Since Called Out The Scene On Social Media
Kamu replied, “I thought so, bro. Miss me with the drag stuff. I’m still an MMA guy, and I have an image to uphold, alright.” Rick smiled and agreed, “Right, that’s tough.”
The exchange has since sparked a reaction online, including from former houseguest Frankie Grande. As fans may remember, Grande appeared in Season 16 of the CBS series and Season 18 of the British version of Celebrity Big Brother.

Fans Shared Their Own Mixed Reactions To The Scene
Taking to X, Grande shared, “Um. What the f*** is this horses***?! Get these homophobic bigots out of the f****** house IMMEDIATELY. Both of them.”
“Ew this conversation makes me sick to my stomach. I’m disgusted. This better be the biggest thing ever when I wake up tomorrow or I’m flipping a table… f***. Ew. Gross.”

On social media, commenters weighed in on the clip. Many agreed with Grande, feeling that the two took the conversation too far. Others felt that the clip was being taken out of context. Some comments included:
- “Not one person held a gun to his head and said he had to dress in drag….& devens laughing and making light of the situation is sad too. Both disappointments.”
- “They need to go home already omg. Just disgusting and weird.”
- Yall in the comments need to understand not wanting to wear woman’s clothing isn’t homophobic BUT the way he respond to it is “miss me with the drag s***” bro could’ve easily said no thanks nicely I don’t wanna wear it & I’m 100% sure he wanted to say “miss me with that gay s***.”
- “Look we know Kamus bigotry already from social media but Devens didn’t do anything wrong here. This is a wild thing to post especially with your following. This is nasty.”
- “Simmer down!!! Devens is neither of those things but you were no saint on your season.”
- “@CBS @CBSNews @CBSBigBrother why are Kamu and Rick allowed to spread homophobic rhetoric on your platform? Do something before you lose half your audience.”
