Sheinelle Jones is no stranger to showing off all sorts of looks on Today. Recently, she tried a look that had her feeling nostalgic and saw her sharing a throwback with fans. Since then, Jones’ followers have been sharing their own reactions.
Today‘s Sheinelle Jones Recently Opened Up With Fans About A Glimpse Through The Looking Glass
Jones first joined Today in 2014 as part of Weekend Today. In 2019, she later joined the program’s third hour as a co-host.
More recently, Jones joined the program’s fourth hour alongside Jenna Bush Hager, rechristening the hour Today with Jenna & Sheinelle. She officially took over for Hoda Kotb, who departed the show in early 2025.
During her time on Today, Sheinelle has debuted a number of different looks, including hairstyles, from bobs to updos. Recently, she took to social media, showing off her hair in a ponytail. This had her feeling nostalgic, as this as style she often wore as a little girl.
In fact, Sheinelle shared a side-by-side of her now alongside a childhood photo from 1987. As she shared, “So … we just washed my hair and put it in a ponytail … and I looked in the mirror and saw my 4th grade self. I’m not sure why … but lately I think of that little girl — and I’m so proud of the woman she’s become.”
Sharing Her ‘Heart,’ Jones Made Sure To Thank Fans For Their Compliments Over The Share
Jones continued, “She’s had a journey — it’s been amazing most days, excruciating some days, and every day she’s still learning and growing… Then I found this picture. How perfect. #samegirl (minus the bangs & tv makeup.”
With tongue firmly in cheek, Jones credited the first photo to “someone in Kansas.” However, she credited Kaprisha “Pre” Gipson for her more modern look.
Taking to the comments, fans shared all sorts of reactions to Jones’ recent look. In fact, Jones herself replied to all the compliments she was receiving with another comment, “Amen. Thank you,” complete with a heart emoji. Some comments included:

- “Beautiful then and now.”
- “You haven’t aged a minute!”
- “You are adorable, Sheinelle no matter what era you are in.”
