Reality TV shows don’t bring in the ratings like they used to. Now that there’s so much competition, viewers are more selective about what they watch. But instead of canceling the shows outright, networks have put shows on pause for a few months or even a year to regroup. ABC’s The Bachelor is on pause this year but returns in 2027.
Bravo announced earlier this year that The Real Housewives of Miami was put on pause after Season 7. Now, Andy Cohen has revealed whether the show is canceled (again) or not. Keep reading to find out the fate of the Real Housewives spinoff.
Southern Hospitality Star Opens Up About How Much Real Housewives Of Miami Means To Them
The Real Housewives of Miami has been canceled before. The show was taken off the air in 2013 after three seasons. It returned in 2021 exclusively on Peacock for Seasons 4 and 5. The seasons on Peacock were well-received, and the show moved back home to Bravo for Seasons 6 and 7.
Yet, the network announced in March 2026 that RHOM was on pause after disappointing ratings. It last aired in October 2025. Southern Hospitality star Michols Peña was on Watch What Happens Live this week. He opened up about his emotional connection to the Miami spinoff.
“Just to be able to have a sense of community where being one of the few Hispanic people on Bravo, just to be able to share that side of my story — help others to connect,” he said. His family is from the Dominican Republic, and he feels like RHOM represents his Hispanic heritage.
“For example, watching Miami because they have a lot of Hispanic cast members was something that I connected with a lot, too,” he added.
Andy Cohen Reveals Fate Of RHOM After Pause
The Southern Hospitality star asked Andy Cohen for an update on the future of RHOM. The cameras are missing out on some explosive drama. Lisa Hochstein turned herself in to the police in April after a warrant for her arrest. She allegedly put a listening device in her ex-husband’s vehicle. She was charged with felony interception of wire, oral, or electronic communications. The RHOM star’s ex-boyfriend, Jody Glidden, was also charged.
Maybe the cameras will pick up before the case goes to trial. Andy Cohen had a hopeful response for the future of The Real Housewives of Miami. “It’ll be back. If it was my decision, it will be going all the time,” the longtime Bravo host said.
RHOM wasn’t the only series put on pause. The Real Housewives of New Jersey was put on pause after the cast refused to film the Season 14 finale. However, after months of speculation, Bravo confirmed a Season 15. RHOM fans shouldn’t give up hope that the show will return, too.
