“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Angie Katsanevas is suffering a Greek tragedy, as reports have confirmed that she and her husband, Shawn Trujillo, have split after 27 years of marriage.
The Bravo reality star, who joined the iconic franchise as a full-time cast member in the fall of 2023, has been open about her relationship with her hairdresser husband over the last several years, revealing that they’ve built a wonderful life together.
Now, it’s all coming to an end, as sources close to the pair have revealed that Angie Katsanevas and Trujillo decided to go their separate ways just as filming for the upcoming season has concluded.
Rumors about Katsanevas and Trujillo’s marriage coming to an end made their way to social media on Sunday, July 19. On Monday, Page Six revealed that multiple sources confirmed the news, sharing that the pair, who married in 1999, are no longer together.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Katsanevas failed to post about their 27th wedding anniversary on Instagram after praising her husband the year before. “A Hair Affair. #26YEARS,” she captioned an Instagram post in June 2025.
“Seems like yesterday I booked an appointment for a blowdry with this dreamy guy I saw on the cover of a romance novel in the grocery store checkout. Long hair like Fabio, big muscles, and known to be lethal with scissors. The rest is HAIRstory,” she finished.
Angie Katsanevas And Trujillo Dealt With Infidelity Rumors In Earlier Seasons
In season 4 of “RHOSLC,” which aired in 2023, a major storyline focused on rumors that Trujillo was cheating on Katsanevas with men. Trujillo denied the allegations and defended his marriage to Bravo figurehead Andy Cohen on an episode of “Watch What Happens Live.”
“For me, it’s not a gay-straight thing; it’s an infidelity thing,” he said. “We love our gay community. We’ve been embedded in it for 30 years now just based on what we do for our business. But I’m here to support Angie, and I’ll take the hits.”
Angie Katsanevas And Trujillo Had Issues On ‘Wife Swap’
Although the pair denied the cheating rumors, they revealed that not everything was squeaky clean during an episode of Bravo’s “Wife Swap.” In the limited series, Trujillo said that he felt disconnected from Katsanevas, considering she tends to spend more time managing the house than focusing on their bond.
“Angie, you know, when she gives directions, you start to feel like there’s maybe some micromanagement that happens,” he said. “Some people run on the treadmill. Some people run their mouth.”
Katsanevas, however, argued that she doesn’t want to be a micromanager, but she’s found it easier to do things herself. “Being the bossy, Greek wife that I am, I find that sometimes Shawn doesn’t do things just the way I like it. So I just get in there and do it myself. So I know it’s done right,” she said.
Trujillo Wanted Katsanevas To Spend More Time With Their Family
As the episode continued, Trujillo admitted that he believed his wife had zero “chill,” adding that her inability to keep her hands out of everything caused tension in their household.
“The struggle for her is just being able to kind of sit together, hang out as a family,” he said. “For me, that’s precious time. I wish Angie would join us in that a little bit more. I’m hoping from this swap that Angie can learn it is okay to chill out.”
However, after spending time away, Katsanevas returned to her Utah mansion and said that she realized she was missing out on the things that mattered most, like watching her 15-year-old daughter, Elektra, grow up in front of her eyes. “It’s the moments. It’s the memories,” she said.
Season 7 Will Feature Emotional Storylines
It’s unclear when Katsanevas and Trujillo actually split, and whether the demise of their marriage will be featured in the upcoming season of “RHOSLC,” which will air in the coming months.
One storyline that’s been confirmed, however, is Katsanevas’ friend, Mary Cosby, grieving the loss of her 23-year-old son, Robert Jr.
According to The Blast, Cosby Jr. passed away in early 2026 after Utah police were called to a home about a potential drug overdose.
Cast member Lisa Barlow called the heartbreaking loss a “bonding moment” for the entire cast before revealing that viewers will see everything play out in the upcoming batch of episodes.
