It’s just been announced that the cast of jackass will return to the big screen for one final set of epic shenanigans – jackass: best and last.
Johnny Knoxville and the gang return for one final appearance on the big screen after four previous instalments in the hilarious slapstick stunt comedy film series. The franchise originated with the 2000-01 MTV series Jackass, created by Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze, and was built around a collection of wacky performers doing a series of increasingly ambitious and dangerous stunts.
The franchise then made its way to the cinema for the first time with 2002’s Jackass: The Movie, which grossed $79 million worldwide on a modest budget. Subsequent entries included the likes of Jackass Number Two, Jackass 3D and most recently Jackass Forever. The franchise has also led to spinoff projects like Bad Grandpa, which has brought in more than $500M worldwide to date.
Cast members returning for the final instalment include Steve-O, Pontius, England, Wee Man (Jason Acuña) and Preston Lacy. Others appearing include Ehren McGhehey, Poopies (Sean McInerney), Zach Holmes, Jasper, Dark Shark (Compston Wilson) and Rachel Wolfson. It will once again be directed by Jeff Tremaine with Greg Iguchi, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary executive producing.
jackass: best and last will be released on June 26th.
