Brazil and Norway have confirmed their starting teams for their World Cup 2026 last-16 tie in New Jersey on Sunday.
The record five-time champions drew their opener 1-1 with Morocco and recorded 3-0 wins over Haiti and Scotland, then eliminated Japan with a 2-1 victory in the last 32.
At their first finals since 1998, Norway beat Iraq 4-1 and Senegal 3-2 before fielding a much-changed side for a 4-1 defeat to France and recovering to see off Ivory Coast 2-1 in the first knockout round.
The winners of the tie will face Mexico or England, who meet in Mexico City at 01:00 BST on Sunday, in a quarter-final in Miami on Sunday (22:00), followed by a potential semi-final against Argentina, Egypt, Switzerland or Colombia in Atlanta on July 15 (20:00).

- Brazil have progressed from nine of their 10 matches in the last 16 at the World Cup, failing to do so in a 1-0 defeat to Argentina in 1990

- The Selecao are averaging 15 attempts per game at this year’s tournament (60 shots across 4 matches), which is their second-lowest on record at a single edition, ahead of 1998 (14.4)
- They could win four World Cup matches in a row, which would be Brazil’s best such sequence since an 11-game run between 2002 and 2006
- Since beating Germany in the 2002 final, Brazil have been eliminated from six successive World Cup knockout ties against European opponents
- Norway’s win over Ivory Coast was their first-ever victory in a World Cup knockout match
- In their previous two such games, Norway lost against Italy at the World Cup in 1938 and 1998
- Erling Haaland has scored in each of his last 13 competitive internationals, netting 25 goals along the way
- A goal against Brazil would make Haaland the eighth European player to score in each of his first four World Cup appearances
