Team Canada defeated Finland and the United States on Sunday at the 2026 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Geneva, Switzerland. With the wins, Canada improved to a record of three wins and zero losses.
Team Canada is represented by the husband and wife duo of Colton and Kadriana Lott of Selkirk, Manitoba. In their 10-4 win over Finland’s Lotta Immonen and Markus Sipila, they actually got off to a tough start as Finland scored three points with the hammer in the first end, before the Lotts responded with five points in the second end. The Lotts then stole two points in the third end and one point in the fourth end.
Canada is actually one of three nations at the 2026 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships to record a five ender. It was also accomplished by Australia in their 12-4 win over China and Scotland in their 12-2 win over the United States.
Speaking of the Americans, Canada won by a score of 7-3. The Canadians stole a point in the third end, two points in the fourth end, and another point in the seventh end.
Next up for Canada in Group B action is Italy on Monday. Both teams are at three wins and zero losses.
