Chris Watts’ secret second mistress, Amanda McMahon, candidly opened up about her relationship with the killer eight years after he was arrested for murdering his pregnant wife, Shanann Watts, and their two young daughters in August 2018.

McMahon told The Daily Mail that she met Chris, 41, on Tinder when she was going through a divorce. The pair communicated for a few weeks before they agreed to meet in person at a Chick-fil-A parking lot. McMahon said that Chris told her he was separated from his children’s mother and even claimed she was using the kids against him in a bitter custody dispute.

They then drove to her home, and Chris grew aggressive as he pulled her hair and wrapped his hands around her neck while they had sex.

While McMahon told police that she only had sex with Chris once, she admitted to the outlet that their time together lasted much longer than she originally let on. She claimed that they saw each other for several months and that their relationship began around April or May 2017.

McMahon added that she lied to police about her timeline with Chris because she feared her ex would use it against her in her own custody fight at the time.

“I was so fearful of having it blow up in my face … it had to do with substances. It had to do with reckless sex, reckless behavior,” she said. “Disclosing that entire web … isn’t something you want to put out in the public when your ex-husband will load it into a gun and use it as ammo.”

McMahon said that Chris, who insisted he and Shanann were separated when they began their affair, was very forward and confident.

“Looking back on it, I could tell any kind of sweetness he had was very fake,” McMahon said. “I won’t say forced, because he was able to turn on the charm for anything he needed … but something about him felt off.”

While recalling their first time being intimate, McMahon said she watched an “animalistic fury come over” Chris. “He just went into like a zone. He just didn’t look the same in his eyes,” she said. “In the snap of a finger, he went from normal to crazy – like brutal, almost.”

McMahon also recalled being worried that Chris would hurt her. “I remember just kind of being scared to really say anything,” she said. “It happened way too fast, and it threw me off.”

Despite her fears, McMahon and Chris began a relationship in which they would drift in and out of each other’s lives.

Another bombshell McMahon revealed in the interview were her claims that Chris occasionally contacted her asking for her prescription opioids.

“I had my own prescription that he would essentially beg for things out of,” she claimed. “It seemed he wanted to get away from something or numb himself … and honestly, I was trying to forget things too, so I understood where he was coming from.”

McMahon insisted that she and Chris never did drugs together, nor did she witness his drug use.

She went on to share that Chris would often speak poorly about Shanann and would call her a “f***ing psycho” and a “gold digger.”

A husband in Kansas has been arrested for strangling and drowning his estranged wife, which took place after he bugged her home and car with spy devices. Brian McKay was found guilty of first-degree murder on Thursday, May 14, in connection to the November 2024 death of his wife, Monica McKay. Brian, 55, and Monica, […]

“He would say the most awful things … talking her down and making her seem like a horrible, unstable person… say[ing] he wished she’d work and complain that he had to support her,” she claimed.

McMahon added that Chris made it clear he “did not like” his wife.

As time went on, McMahon grew tired of Chris and lost interest in hearing about his marriage issues and his requests for her opioids.

The pair stopped seeing each other in March 2018, and Chris killed Shanann and their daughters five months later in August 2018. During his trial, prosecutors claimed Chris killed his family after he started an affair with his coworker Nichol Kessinger weeks earlier.

Looking back on what Chris did to his family, McMahon said it was “pretty terrifying” and hard to think about what he could have potentially done to her.

“But I’ve had years to think about that, and obviously he wanted to have a new life … which is obviously more complex in that aspect,” she said. “He’s just sick.”

Following Chris’ arrest, he pleaded guilty to the murders and received five life sentences without the possibility of parole in November 2018.
