Deatrick Nichols will be a game-time decision for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers when they host the Montreal Alouettes on Friday night. The team published its official depth chart on Thursday morning.
The 32-year-old defensive back was a non-participant in practice on Monday and Tuesday, as per the team’s official report. He was a limited participant on Wednesday.
The five-foot-nine, 172-pound defender has played all 10 regular-season games with the Blue Bombers this year, recording 30 defensive tackles and one forced fumble.
The native of Miami, Fla. is a two-time All-CFL selection, three-time All-West Division selection, and one-time Grey Cup champion. Over 92 career regular-season CFL games, he has made 241 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles, four forced fumbles, three interceptions, and one touchdown.
Canadian defensive back Redha Kramdi will not dress despite being a full participant in practice this week. The five-foot-ten, 189-pound defender has missed the team’s last four games due to a hand injury.
The Montreal native started the first six games of the regular-season at safety. He recorded 21 defensive tackles, two forced fumbles, and one sack.
The 29-year-old was originally a second-round pick in the 2021 CFL Draft, and helped the team win the Grey Cup as a rookie. Over 78 career regular-season games, he has recorded 158 defensive tackles, 18 special teams tackles, five sacks, three forced fumbles, and one interception.
Winnipeg has made no changes to its roster from last week. If Nichols is unable to play, he would be moved to the one-game injured list before kickoff. The team would then be able to promote someone from the reserve roster or practice roster to dress in his place.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (5-5) will host the Montreal Alouettes (9-1) at Princess Auto Stadium on Friday, August 28 with kickoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EDT. Last week, the Alouettes torched the Ottawa Redblacks, while the Blue Bombers suffered a second-half collapse to lose to the Edmonton Elks.
The weather forecast in Winnipeg calls for a high of 25 degrees and a mix of sun and cloud. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on TSN 690 (English) or 99.5 Montreal (French) in Montreal or CJOB 680 in Winnipeg.
