Gracie Abrams caught listeners off guard on Saturday with a surprise bonus track drop from her album “Daughter from Hell.” Two new songs, “Out of Nowhere” and “Love Letter,” became available to download on iTunes at 6pm PT on July 19. The window is limited, with no confirmation yet on whether the songs will land on streaming services permanently. For fans who want these in their library, the timing matters.

The bundle is listed as “Daughter from Hell (Bonus Tracks).”

Abrams broke the news on Instagram with a message that felt more like a text from a friend than a standard PR announcement. “Hey SURPRISE,” she opened. Then she laid out the details. The rest of the post was just as warm. “I’m so moved to hear from those of you who are connecting with the record so far,” she wrote. “Really truly your messages have made my heart grow ten sizes.” She closed by mentioning she personally loves both tracks, finished with a devil emoji, and signed off with a cheerful “Love Letter mwahahaha.”

The post cleared 205,000 likes on Instagram. For a no-fanfare Saturday surprise with no lead-up or promotional push, that kind of response says a lot about the connection “Daughter from Hell” has made.

Abrams has spent the last few years quietly building a reputation as one of the more emotionally honest songwriters of her generation. Her music lives in specific, personal moments. The kind of lyrics that feel pulled from a diary, then somehow end up in exactly the right ears. Fans have come to trust her instincts. “Daughter from Hell” has been one of her most widely followed projects yet. The warmth in her post fits the relationship she’s built with listeners over the years.

The iTunes-only, limited-time structure is a bit of a throwback. Downloads have largely given way to streaming. But releasing “Out of Nowhere” and “Love Letter” exclusively through iTunes, at least for now, gives the drop a sense of occasion. It feels deliberate rather than algorithmic. There’s something almost old-school about it, and for an artist whose music rewards the people paying closest attention, that feels fitting.

The two tracks haven’t been previewed beyond their title reveal, so details are sparse. But Abrams’ own enthusiasm is a decent indicator. “I personally love them very much,” she wrote. She tends to be careful about what she says publicly. That carries some weight.

“Daughter from Hell” has clearly meant something to people. These bonus tracks feel like a response to that. Warm, a little unexpected, and very much Gracie Abrams.
