Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Jimmy Kimmel recently became part of a discussion online, all stemming from a satirical post discussing the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The conversation started when RFK Jr. shared his own response to the post. However, Kimmel had a simple, yet scathing, response of his own to share.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Responded To A Social Media Parody Post Which Pretended To Be From A CBS Senior Vice President
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is the nephew of assassinated U.S. President John F. Kennedy. Since 2025, he has served as the 26th United States secretary of health and human services as part of President Donald Trump’s administration.
Recently, in a post on social media, RFK Jr. shared a post from parody account Peter Girnus. At the time, Girnus was posing as a CBS executive. The post allegedly used a LEGO video to mock Stephen Colbert’s transition from his Comedy Central persona to the more politically engaged Late Show host.
Girnus’ video claimed, “We killed the character and put the real man on stage. The real man was a lecturer. Earnest. Thoughtful. Correct about everything,” adding, “Correct is not funny.” It was also claimed that Colbert went from a “comedian” or a “jester” to a “priest.” After Kennedy shared the post, Girnus continued the joke, arguing, “Liberal comedy has become an excommunication system working as designed.”
Kimmel Particularly Poked Fun At RFK Jr.’s Spelling
In his share of the post, Kennedy described it as “superb dissection of the shocking collapse of liberal comedy.” He continued, highlighting another late-night host, “This is the best explanation of how we’ve reached the nader where Late Night host Jimmy Kimmel can say ‘It’s not my job to be funny.’ As this author shows, he was hired as a comedian but he made himself a priest.” Notably, Kennedy appeared to mean “nadir,” describing a low point, but it was spelled as “nader.”
Following the share, users were quick to point out that the post was intended to be satirical. One such figure to critique Kennedy was Kimmel himself.
I am the Senior Vice President of Late Night Strategy at CBS. I am the person who turned a comedian into a priest and charged advertisers to watch the congregation.
I want to be precise about what I built. Not a comedy show. A permission structure. For eleven years, six million… pic.twitter.com/UnOQ3PGk7O

Taking to Instagram, Kimmel shared a screenshot of the post. In a simple added caption in bright pink letters, he criticized Kennedy’s spelling, writing, “It’s ‘nadir’ dummy.” He also poked fun at his current position in the Trump administration, adding, “Now get back to spreading polio.”
