Nostalgia for the 1990s led Netflix to reboot Full House in 2016. The original sitcom followed Danny Tanner as he raised three daughters alone. Fuller House came full circle and followed DJ Tanner as she raised three boys with the help of her sister, Stephanie, and best friend, Kimmy.
Jodie Sweetin reprised her role of Stephanie and also starred in several Hallmark movies. But in the years between the two shows, she lived a regular life. The actress was a guest on Taboo’s Comics & Kicks podcast in June. She opened up about the Olsen twins refusing to return for the reboot. One of Jodie Sweetin’s jobs after Full House ended was at a rehab. “Working in treatment when people are detoxing and all of a sudden they’re like, ‘Are you the girl from Full House?’ And you’re like, ‘Yeah, no, you’re actually not tripping. I am,’” she said about the rehab patients recognizing her. But she needed to pay her bills like anyone else.

She shut down the misconception that child stars are rich. “It’s always weird when [people] see you and they expect you have these millions of dollars or something from being on TV once, and you’re like, ‘Oh honey, that’s not how it goes.’ Notoriety doesn’t always equal financial stability,” she said.
“It’s not so much you that has the problem with it; it’s that you’re constantly answering the question of, ‘Why are you here?’ and having to justify that you’re just another person,” Jodie Sweetin added about having a normal job as a celebrity.
